Methodology
Where our numbers come from, and how we round them.
The data
- Source. Hyperliquid’s public API: markets, prices, candles, funding and open interest.
- Time. UTC. A day runs from 00:00 to 24:00 UTC; a weekend is Saturday and Sunday, UTC.
- Volume. Notional, in US dollars. Where we estimate it from candles, the article says so.
- Rounding. Two or three significant figures. Each number of an article is kept in its data beside its source, and code checks the text against it.
Weekend and holiday prices
HIP-3 markets trade around the clock, also when the exchanges that list their underlying assets are closed. Weekend prices come from the order book until the open, so they can move away from where the underlying opens.
What we don’t do
We don’t forecast prices or tell anyone what to trade. A number on rxn.gg/news describes what happened on Hyperliquid, at the time it states.
